STEWART, VERNA M. (GUERRIER) 86 - of Absecon, passed away at home on October 11, 2012, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born on August 14, 1926 to Dominic and Angeline Guerrier, grew up in Egg Harbor City, attended St. Nicholas School and graduated from Egg Harbor City H.S. She was employed by Prudential Insurance Co. for many years. In addition to her parents, Verna was predeceased by her loving husband, Kenneth Stewart, owner and operator of Peter Stewart Steel Company in Pleasant-ville. Verna is survived by her brother Joseph Guerrier and his wife Gertrude of Linwood; niece Andrea Weinstein (Michael) of Marmora; niece Denise Guerrier (Harold Smith) of Egg Harbor Twp. and nephew Kenneth Guerrier (Colleen Sterling) of Linwood. She is also survived by her great nieces Jillian Nehr and Rebecca Weinstein; great nephew Kyle Weinstein; her devoted and loving caregiver of two years Naomi Clarke and her little care dog Sophie. Visitation will be Monday, Oct. 15th from 9 to 10 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish (Church of Assumption) 146 S. Pitney Rd., Galloway, NJ 08205 with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 AM . Internment immediately following service at Holy Cross Cemetery in Mays Landing.
