So sorry to hear of Joan's passing. What a great loss to her family. I got to know her when she participated in Jack's stroke rehabilitation. I will always remember this kind and loving woman who was an absolute delight. My sincerest condolences.

God looked around his garden
And found an empty place,
He then looked down upon the earth
And saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you
And lifted you to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful
He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering
He knew you were in pain.
He knew that you would never
Get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough
And the hills were hard to climb.
So he closed your weary eyelids
And whispered, 'Peace be Thine'.
It broke our hearts to lose you
But you didn't go alone,
For part of us went with you
The day God called you home.
I miss you Nannie

Joan and Allan moved into the house across the street from my Dad in Margate when he was in his late seventies. As his Parkinson's progressed and he became more and more disabled, Joan stepped in and offered assistance. She greeted my Dad with cheer, she watched out for him. I live out of town and she let me and my siblings know if there were problems. We worried less knowing that she was there. She even offered to pick up groceries for him when he couldn't get out. She was such a compassionate, kind and giving woman. Joan will be remembered with love and very much missed. Ellen Savio Rogers

She is at peace! We will all miss her terribly... she who was my dearest friend and the only one in Philadelphia. We spent a few yearly vacations at each other's homes... she in Phila. and I in Quincy. Of recent year it was frequent phone calls between Walnut Creek and Margate. Joanie dear you will always be loved by us!!

Our sincerest condolences on the passing of Joan Shassian. She was a long-time customer at our linen shop, Giovanni's, in Margate, New Jersey. How often she spoke of her family, particularly her grandchildren. She was truly a lovely woman.
May she rest in peace.
