M. JANET BEALES SAWYER

SAWYER, M. JANET BEALES - Born in Philadelphia on July 8, 1943, passed away peacefully at home on July 26, 2013. Jan grew up in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania and moved to Severna Park, Maryland her senior year of high school. She attended the University of Maryland at College Park where she met her husband, B. Wayne Sawyer. They graduated in 1966. Jan is survived by her daughters Dawn, Leslie and Christa; brother, Roger Beales; son-in-law, Bryan Burke; her granddaughters, Megan and Shannon; her sisters-in-law, Rosemary, Betty, Mary Alice and Pat, their spouses, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Wayne; her parents Mary and Roger Beales; and brother-in-law Thomas. Jan loved gardening and shell hunting and was a brilliant card player and crossword puzzle enthusiast. Jan looked forward to playing bridge with her club more than anything in her later life. All those she knew and loved enjoyed receiving cards from her to commemorate every important event in their lives. A visitation will be held at Godfrey Funeral home located at 644 South Shore Road, in Palermo, New Jersey on Monday, July 29, 2013 at 10:30am with a memorial service to follow at 11:00am.
