APPLEGATE, CATHERINE 83 - of Laurel Lakes, died Wednesday, December 13, 2006, at Potomac Hospital in Virginia. Mrs. Applegate was born in Mahanoy City, PA on November 25, 1923 to the late Walter and Theresa Jusaitus. A resident of Stafford, Virginia for the past four years, she was a former resident of Wildwood, Sea Isle and Laurel Lakes, New Jersey after her longtime residence in Darby. She was a former member of Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Darby where she sang in the choir, she was also active with the Girl Scouts and was a Troop Leader. Until her retirement she was a self-employed seamstress. She was the wife of the late Charles J. Applegate. She is survived by her children, Charles Applegate and his wife, Maryann, of Darby; Catherine and her husband, Tom Hale, of Stafford, VA; Michelle and her husband, Richard Egan, of Rising Sun, MD; Madeline, and her husband, Dale Fourqurean, of Palermo, and Walter Applegate and his wife, Theresa, of Spanish Lakes, MO. She is also survived by sister, Sally Peterson of Lima, PA; and 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass Wednesday, December 20, 2006, at 9:45 a.m. at Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 1101 Main St., Darby, PA 19023. Friends may call after 9:00a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon Contributions to a Charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by her family.
