SMALL, DEACON EDWARD 95 - of Atlantic City, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 13, at his home. He was born November 25, 1916, in Conway, South Carolina, to Lucy and Ezekiel and Small. He was raised along with 11 siblings and was formally educated in Conway, South Carolina. In 1936, he married Sadie Rebecca Small also of Conway, South Carolina. Edward and Rebecca gave birth to two beautiful children, Bettye Jane and James Edward Small. The family later moved to Wilmington, Delaware before relocating to Atlantic City, where Edward and Rebecca raised their family. Deacon Small was a faithful member of New Bethel F.B.H. Church in Atlantic City, NJ since 1937. He served as a devout member of the congregation as well as on the deacon board. Deacon Small assured that many of the elderly members were able to make it to church in a safe and timely fashion and served God. He loved helping people. He served as a special policeman after Pearl Harbor in 1941. He was predeceased by: his loving wife, Sadie Rebecca Small; and daughter, Bettye Jean Cabell Brown. Services will be 11AM, Saturday, November 24, 2012, Victory First Presbyterian Deliverance Church, 1013 Pacific Avenue, Atlantic City, where friends may call from 9AM.
