GRETCHEN HOWARD SHEPPERSON

SHEPPERSON, GRETCHEN HOWARD 89 - formerly of Atlantic City, was born on March 21,1921 to the late Howard P. and Marceline Howard in Washington, D.C. Gretchen went home to be with our Lord on October 11, 2010 in Fayetteville, N.C.after a brief illness. She graduated from Dunbar High School in Washington, D.C. and furthered her education at Howard University, and graduated from Shaw University. Gretchen started her career as a Medical Secretary in the office of Dr. H. Donald Marshall. She then went to work at Atlantic City Hospital on the OR. She lastly worked in the office of Dr. Rosenblatt in Atlantic City. She leaves to cherish her memories; son Nathan Smothers( Grace) of Fayetteville, N.C.Daughters Gretchen Smothers of Pleasantville, NJ, Patricia Smothers of Absecon, NJ, Son Edward Shepperson (Gwen) of Greensboro, N.C., step-son William Curtis(Tennie) of Pleasantville, NJ, 10 grandchildren Lisa, Patrice, Monique, Marcus, Keisha, Malon, Sheria, Shawn, Tiana and Tariq; 16 great grandchildren and one cousin Doris Adams. She was predeceased by both her parents, her two aunts Lydia and Surelia who raised her and her son-in-law Milton. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 20, 2010@ 11:00AM, at St. Paul A.M.E. Church 1203 Harrison Avenue, Pleasantville, N.J.; where family and friends may view from 9:00-11:00AM.
