Dr. Hurley has been our family vet for over 13 years. His professionalism was second only to the compassion he showed his clients. This is not only a great loss for his family, friends and colleagues, but a great loss for the community. I know there is a special place in Heaven for this kind man. (Deb Armitage, Manahawkin,NJ)

Our family was very saddened to hear of the loss of Dr Hurley. Dr Hurley was the emotional support for us as he treated our Labrador Retriever for her terminal cancer. We will always appreciate how he was immediately available for us through that tough time. When I heard that he passed away, I immediately thought that there would be alot of cold noses and wagging tails to greet him. We will certainly miss him.

To Doc Hurley, his family, friends and colleagues. I was introduced to Dr Hurley several years ago from my friend Marcy in EHT, NJ. She was right when she said, "you'll never find a better Vet." I would travel 45 minutes with my Lab just to have him care for my pet. He truly was a warm and caring doctor. What a blessing it's been for us to have met and had his care for my animal. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you that were blessed to know him and to all the animals that he cared for. He will always remain in my heart until the day I hope to see his friendly smile and in perfect health in heaven.
With heartfelt prayers,
Karl, Janette and family

For Doctor Hurley, V.M.D.,
I don't want to mourn your death but to "Celebrate" your life. For Doc Hurley was one in a million! I knew Doc Hauge and Doc Hurley for 35 years. I met him when one of my dogs got sick (Dob-Raven). He knew how much my animals meant to me as I would talk to him about them. I never was with out animals, they are everything to me. Well, when one of my dogs had to be put down, he comforted me. Doc Hauge and Doc Hurley sent me a letter stating they sent a sum of money in my dog's name to Cornell University for diseases for dogs. Oh my, how many Vets do you know that does that? I could tell you a lot of stories about animals and them but it would turn out to be a book. His love for the animals was incredible! He never rushed you and the animals when seeing them. He would answer questions, no matter how many you had. He always had a smile and hand shake for you. Always so professional. He was the BEST VET for my animals. I say "Thank GOD" for Stafford Vet Hospital and Tuckerton Clinic and for all the Vets and people who run it. I thank you from the animals. You are the BEST in the Nation. My heart goes out to his companion and family.
I know some day when God heals me - I will be riding my Harley Sportster and Doc Hurley will ride too in spirit. Love in Christ, Marcy and all her animals.
Marcy,

Our deepest sympathies to the family, friends and co-workers of Dr. Hurley,
We have been bringing our pets to Stafford Vet since the early 80's. Dr. Hurley was always kind, gentle, and funny to our pets and to us. He would call our sheltie Shelly 'Shelly Belly' and I would laugh because that was our pet name for her.The world is a better place for him having been in it.

I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Hurley at SVH and he was a caring compassionate vet and a wonderful boss. Racing down the parkway to get to the Tuckerton clinic, Dot and I could certainly see the race car driver in him! He was a great guy and will surely be missed.

Dr.Hurley was the best vet. For over 20 years he cared for our many pets from Charley the beagle mix, whom he diagnosed with Addisons Disease to my lovely shepherd mix,B.J., who lived to the ripe old age of 18,and finally to the Katrina rescue border collie mix, Callie, with her case of post traumatic stress syndrome. And then there were all of the cats, ferrets, guinea pigs, finches,cockatiels,etc... Each pet was treated with love and compassion as were their owners. Not only will he be surrounded with his loving family and friends in heaven, but with his thousands of furry little friends. This world has lost a very good and caring human being. To Dr.Hurley's family, please accept our condolences...

Gina and Nancy Jill and I are very sorry for your loss. I could not have asked for a better friend in high school and into our college years. Ron (always Bucky to me) came from a loving family, even his younger sister. Their home was always open to me. I am forever grateful of the blind date he insisted I go on in June '65. Been married to Jill for over 41 years. He was a wonderful man. God bless his soul and you ladies.

I worked with Dr. Hurley for 20 years. I spent many picnics and Christmas parties with him. I will always remember what a "character" he was. He made you laugh and would laugh at himself. He was a wonderful, caring man. I grew to know his sons Dean, Gavin, his sister & cousin very well and his loving companion Gina. My deepest condolences to Dr. Hurley's family and friends. He was my friend and we will all truly miss him.

I worked with Dr. Hurley at Stafford Veterinary Hospital for 5 years. He was a kind and considerate man. He truly cared for all of us; people and all the many creatures that sought him out for help and healing. He patiently cared for our pets and his sincere affection for all living things was touching. I am grateful to have worked with Dr. Hurley and to have had him as a friend. We will all greatly miss him. Lynda (Wilkie) Wells and family.

We are saddened to hear of Dr. Hurley's passing, we had the pleasure of not only having him care for our pets, but he was always there for us when we needed him during our time of owning Four Winds Animal Inn. We always turned to Dr Hurley and all the doctors at Stafford Vet for all our pet needs during the 20 years we owned the kennel. We will remember him with fondness for the smile always on his face, his gentle care and touch to our pets, and his concern. He will be greatly missed.

How do you measure the success of a persons life? To do so you must look past the personal possessions and look at the lives that a person has touched during their own.
Dr. Hurley touched the lives of everyone he met, wether at work or in his personal life. He left an impression on each persons's life. He was caring, compassionate and gave of himself fully. He was truly a successful man in all aspects of life.
My mother always says that life is like a lending library. And the people in our lives are the books. They are lent to us for too short of a time and then must return. But while they are here they enrich the pages of our book, and the pages that Dr. Hurley enriched in mine will be truly treasured.

Dear Ron, I'm sure the angels took you straight to heaven, as they rightfully should for such a gentle soul. You gave our sister-in-law the best years of her life and we thank you for that. You will be missed but never forgotten. I pray you and my son are at peace now.
In found memory and with love,

I have had the pleasure of knowing Dr. Hurley for over 20 years. My Corgis - past and present - were very lucky to have been treated by such a caring and compassionate man. His concerns were not only of his patients, but of their owners - especially when it was time for them to say good-bye to their beloved friends. Dr. Hurley will be missed by everyone whose lives he touched. I'm certain all his patients of the past were waiting for him at The Rainbow Bridge.

Dr. Hurley was more than a vet/doctor to our pets. He was a kind, compassionate person who understood the depth of love and devotion we give to our 4 legged family members. He understood our sorrow and pain and he felt the pain with us. He and our "BOOMER" were friends and he made the visit easier for all of us. Dr.Hurley will be missed and his memory lives on through all who had the pleasure of knowing him. The LoDuca/Bernstein family

What a difficult time for everyone who knew and loved Dr. Ron Hurley. I was blessed to live next door to Ron for over 20 years and to say that he was a wonderful neighbor and friend is inadequate. He was there at some of the worst times and some of the best times with my pets. He made more house
calls and never seemed to mind, he just
understood that I was the neighbor from
hell who just never had enough pets. I
could go on and on but I won't. I'm sure all the thousands of animals in
heaven are happy that Dr. Hurley is there. Deepest sympathy.
