ANDREW GOLEBIEWSKI Obituary

GOLEBIEWSKI, ANDREW M. 70 - of Egg Harbor City, passed away January 30, 2013. Andy was born July 1, 1942 in Philadelphia where he lived until moving to Egg Harbor. He attended St. Nicholas Grammar School in Egg Harbor City, St Joseph High School (Class of 1960) and graduated from Villanova University in 1965 earning his Degree in Accounting. Andy served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Air Nation Guard and later in the US Air Force. Although he suffered from many limitations related to his diabetes, anyone who knew him was amazed by his determination, strong desire to be independent, and the fact that he never complained. He enjoyed golfing and watching baseball â€" especially the Phillies. Rarely, if ever, would you see him without wearing his red Phillies baseball cap. Andy is predeceased by his father Matthew; his mother Adele (Schroer); his stepfather Frank Schroer and his brother John Golebiewski. He will be sadly missed but never forgotten by his only daughter, Theresa Menas (Nick) and his granddaughters Gianna and Gabriella of Linwood; and his former wife Patricia Silvestri, of Northfield. Andy is also survived by his nephew, John Golebiewski; nieces Jenna and Tara Golebiewski; his sister-in-law Maria Golebiewski and several cousins with whom he shared many special memories. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated for Andrew M. Golebiewski 10:30am Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at St. Gianna Parish â€" St. Bernadette Church, 1421 New Road, Northfield. Interment will be private. Arrangements by the Gormley Funeral Home LLC, Atlantic City.

Sorry I couldn't be there today. You taught me a very valuable life lesson. No matter how much pain you were in you always were concerned how others had it much worse. I often impart your positive attitude to others experiencing difficult times. I also remembered what you told many years ago in my own difficult times. R.I.P.
