MORRO, JOSEPH A. 88 - of Cape May Court House, died on Monday, February 25, 2013. He was born in Glassboro, NJ, the son of the late Nicholas and Marie Morro. He moved to this area in 1969 from Glassboro. Mr. Morro loved to fish; enjoyed talking on his CB Radio; and enjoyed doing woodworking, metal crafting and working with stained glass. Joe was truly a good friend to many, always there to lend a helping hand. He loved spending time taking family and friends fishing, clamming, and the children for many boat rides. He served in the US Navy during WWII having fought in the Battle of Normandy and being a Purple Heart Recipient. After his discharge from the military, he worked for the Philadelphia Navy Yard and then as a pipefitter for the USCG. He is survived by his daughters: Joanne M. (Pete) Leonard of Cape May and Marjorie E. (George) Carlson of Florida; his companion, Charlotte Bartlett of Delray Beach, FL; a daughter in law, Louise Craner of Pennsville, NJ. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Guy, John C., Susan and Daniel Carlson; Tina Fisher, William Craner, Terry Sorrels and Vickie Coulter; several great and great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Ellen K.; a son, Robert Craner and a grandson, Ted Craner. A Funeral Mass will be said on Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at 10 am at Our Lady of the Angels Church, E. Mechanic Street and Garden State Parkway, Cape May Court House, NJ where a viewing will be 9 to 10 am. Interment will be in the Cape May County Veterans Cemetery.
