BOOTH, RICHARD E. 67 - of Cape May passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home on Sunday morning, May 5, 2013. Rich was born on Nov. 15, 1945 to Helen C. and George C. Booth in Stamford, CT. He lived most of his life in the Village of Pelham in New York and graduated from Mount Vernon High School, NY. A summer resident of Cape May since 1985, Rich and his wife, Diana moved here permanently in 1996. Rich worked as an installer, repair-man and computer analyst for the New York Telephone Co., a career that he was dedicated to from 1968-1994 and from which he retired. He was a volunteer fire fighter for the Mount Vernon Fire Dept. where he was a life member. Rich was an avid reader of books and magazines and enjoyed the history of World War II. He was a collector of HO Scale Trains and was a life member of the Patcong Valley Railroad Club. Rich will be dearly missed by his loving family which includes his wife of 28 years, Diana; brother-in-law, Robert Petruzzelli; nephew, Matthew; niece, Erin; many cousins, specifically, Anthony Georgeo and Mary Lawwill; and his two dogs, Beau and Tuffy. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday (May 11th) at 11am in Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 525 Washington St., Cape May where there will be a viewing from 10am â€" 11am. Entombment will follow in St. Mary's Cem., Cape May.
