BERGES, GEORGE J. 84 - of Egg Harbor Twp formerly of Atlantic City passed away peacefully on Tuesday September 3, 2013 after a long illness. George was born in Atlantic City and he graduated from Atlantic City High School. George proudly served his country is in US Army as Corporal in the Military Police station-ed in Germany during the Korean conflict. He was employed as a union decorator. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Painters and Allied Trades Union in Atlantic City. He was formerly a member of the Morris Guards. He enjoyed playing bridge, the beach with company, Philadelphia sports teams, dining out with live music and most of all, making people laugh. He is survived by his devoted daughter Georgeann Hill (Frank), his sister Barbara Howe (Melvin) and his sister-in-law Darlene Berges. George is also survived by his nieces Vicki Morgan (Jim), Michele Bolger, his nephews Matthew Berges (Anya) and Jason Berges. He is predeceased by his beloved wife Jean, his parents John and Grace Berges, his stepmother Vicki Berges and his brother John Berges Jr. Relatives and friends are invited attend his Life Celebration on Saturday September 7, 2013 from 10 to 11am at Jeffries and Keates Funeral Home, Tilton Road and Infield Ave Northfield.
