We are saddened to announce the sudden passing of Glenn Leask on Sept. 8, 2012 in Prince George. Survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Deanna (nee Shanahan), daughters Rebecca (James) Manning and Katherine (Brock) Campbell; granddaughter Claire, siblings Grant (Collette), Gail (Lorne), Gary and Greg; mother-in-law (Bev Shanahan) as well as sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, and numerous adoring nieces, nephews, and cousins. Glenn was born in Ontario and moved to Prince George as a young boy in 1965 with his family. He was a dedicated corrections professional and spent the most recent 12 years of his career working with youth and young adults. Glenn was a gentle man -- selfless and unassuming. Although quiet, his happy whistling, boisterous laugh and infectious smile lit up any room. He especially enjoyed epic books featuring extraordinary heroes. Although he would not have admitted it, Glenn was the true hero to his family and friends. When he wasn't building and renovating, Glenn had an uncanny ability to repair anything and everything. He freely gave his skills and time to help anyone who needed it. A weekend of hockey, golf, barbeque and beer with family and friends was Glenn's idea of perfection. So he sought perfection as often as possible. More than anything else, Glenn's life was devoted to his girls. Deanna, Becca, Kathy and Claire gave him his great joy and brought a special sparkle to his eyes. A service will be held to honour and remember Glenn on Saturday, Sept. 15 at College Heights Baptist Church. Service begins at 2:00p.m. In lieu of flowers or gifts donations can be made to B.C. Heart and Stroke and Foundation.
