Gregory John Matters April 12, 1972 September 10, 2012 Greg Matters was born Gregory John de Matters in Prince George BC, and lived in the Pineview community until joining the Canadian Forces in October 1994. Greg proudly served his country for 15 years before returning to the family farm in 2009. Greg had a great love of Pineview and the local community. Some of his plans included introducing a civic tree planting program and establishing a local farmers market where nearby producers and craftspeople could meet and sell their wares. He will be greatly missed by many including his mother Lorraine (Terry), his sister Tracey (Simon), his brother Trevor (Jody), and his grandmother, Helen. Many will mourn his loss including nieces, a nephew, godchildren, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, friends, his dog, and two recently-adopted kittens. A funeral service will be held at 11am at the First Baptist Church, 483 Gillett Street, Prince George, on Friday September 28th. Following the service, a private burial will be held at Prince George Memorial Cemetery with family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, please donate money to Wounded Warriors.
