Funeral services for Deacon John Alexander Sr. will be held Friday, July 5, 2013, 11 a.m. at the Zion Baptist Church, 225 Bryne St., Petersburg, Va., with the Rev. Dr. Archie German, officiating , and the Rev. Dr. Andrew White, delivering the eulogy. The interment will be in the Dinwiddie Memorial Park, Petersburg, Va. Deacon John Alexander Sr. will lie in state from 10 a.m. until the hour of service.
The family is receiving relatives and friends at the residence, 323 Webster St. Petersburg, Va., and is asking relatives and friends to assemble there at 10 a.m. on the day of the service.
