BASKERVILLE, REUBEN  
Mr. Reuben "Edward" Baskerville, 66, of 25715 Greensville Ave., West Petersburg, Virginia, went home to Glory on Friday, December 12, 2014, at Southside Regional Medical Center, Petersburg, Virginia. Edward was born February 29, 1948, to the late George and Irene Baskerville. He was also preceded in death by two nieces, Florene and Diane; two brothers-in-law, Calvin Hinton, Sr., and Harold Harris; one sister-in-law, Mary Baskerville; and one uncle, Lewis Evans Sr. Reuben attended school in Chesterfield County and worked at Colonial Heights High School for 18 years as a janitor. He was a member of High Street Church of Christ, Petersburg, Virginia. He enjoyed watching TV, walking to BP Store and eating at McDonald's. He will be missed dearly. Reuben is survived by three loving and devoted sisters, Dorothy Harris, Ruby Hinton and Carrie Alexander (David), all of West Petersburg, Va.; three loving and devoted brothers, Floyd Baskerville (Sallie), Arthur Baskerville, both of West Petersburg and George Baskerville Jr., of Richmond, Va.; two aunts, Rosalee Savage of New York and Elnora Evans of Petersburg, Va.; several loving and devoted nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends and among them The Smith Family, The Harrison Family, The Parnells family, The Bonner family, The Roger family and all of West Petersburg Community. Funeral services for Reuben "Edward" Baskerville will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2014, at 11 a.m. at the Church of Christ, 234 North South St., Petersburg, Va., with Brother Phillip Jones Sr., officiating . The interment will be in the Dinwiddie Memorial Park, Petersburg, Va. Mr. Reuben E. Baskerville will lie in state from 9:45 a.m. until the hour of service. There will be a public viewing on Thursday, December 18, 2014, from 5 to 8 p.m. and on Friday, December 19, 2014, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the J.L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment, 25824 Greensville Ave., Petersburg, Va. BLACKWELL, FLETCHER A.  
Mr. Fletcher Arthur "Underwood" Blackwell, 74, of 214 Sycamore Street, Petersburg, Va., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 6, 2014. Fletcher was an employed at Southside Regional Medical Center, Petersburg, where he retired in 2005. He was also employed at Southside Virginia Training Center for several years. He was a member to Third Baptist Church, Petersburg. He was the son of the late Harry S. Blackwell, Sr. and Rolette Blackwell. Fletcher is predeceased by his wife of 20 years, Inez Blackwell and brothers, Carl Blackwell, Earl Blackwell, Robert Blackwell, Gerald Blackwell and Willie Blackwell. Fletcher leaves to cherish his memory, his brothers, Harry Blackwell, Jr. of Petersburg, Va.; four sisters, Geraldine Santos of Yonkers, NY, Shirley Morton, Doris Walker and Patricia Locker all of Petersburg, VA, two sisters-in-law, Mable Blackwell and Margaret Blackwell both of Petersburg, VA; one brothers-in-law, Willie Locker of Petersburg, VA; a devoted friend, Mary Gates, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. BURTON, JULIAN G.  
Mr. Julian Gant Burton, 90, of 1625 Blair Road, Petersburg, departed this life Saturday, December 13, 2014, at John Randolph Medical Center, Hopewell, VA. He was born on May 31, 1924, to the late Mary Lou Burton and reared by his grandparents, the late Gant and Cary Burton. He was educated in the Albermarle Public School System and served as World War II Veteran. Roc traveled widely and always demonstrated a compassionate and giving spirit to all he knew and associated with. "Roc" as he was affectionally known, was preceded in death by his wife, Cleo Dixon Burton; his three aunts, one devoted Marian B. Walker. He is survived by his first cousins, Otelia W. Greene (Julian), Clyde A. Walker (Pamela), Robert W. Walker (Rev. Cheryl); his step daughter, Ann Baker (Irvin); other internal and external family, friends and associates. The family extends special thanks to Hopewell Health Care Center, John Randolph Medical Center, Chippenham Medical Center, Hunter Holmes McGuire Veterans Medical Center and Julian Greene, Jr. Service of remembrance will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, December 20 , 2014, at the chapel of William N. ELLIS, TREON  
Mr. Treon Marquise Ellis, 22, of Hopewell transitioned from this life on Sunday, December 14, 2014. He was born in Hopewell to parents, Sandy and Antonio Holloway, Sr. He attended Hopewell High School Public School System and was a member of Wakefield Chapel of Hopewell. Those of us, who knew Treon, know that he was always eager to Live Life! He leaves with us memories that will last well beyond his 22 years. We will mourn his passing and will miss Treon. Our greatest tribute to him will be to celebrate the time we shared with him. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Shirley Holloway. He leaves to cherish his memories, son, Zyon Marquise Williams; daughter, LaMani Trenae Ellis; parents, Sandy and Antonio Holloway, Sr.; older brother, Antonio Holloway, Jr; younger brothers, Raekwon Washington, Kani Ellis and Isaiah Holloway; maternal grandmother, Frances Ellis; grandfather, Pastor Sam Ellis; children's mothers, Cardeshia and Shaquana; host of special aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family and friends. FERGUSON, PATRICIA P.  
Patricia Patram Ferguson died peacefully on Sunday, December 14, 2014. She is survived by loving husband of 59 years, James Olin Ferguson. She is also survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Ralph W. (Shari) Stevens of Norfolk and Mr. and Mrs. Rick (Laura Beth) Louthan of Chesterfield; and six grandchildren, Jamie, Emily Beth, Molly, Ty, Annie Grace and Remi. She is also survived by her two sisters, Mrs. Brenda P. Hamm of Richmond and Ms. Yvonne P. Avery of Waterlily, North Carolina. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph O. and Cornelia G. Patram and her sons, Keith A. Ferguson and Kevin O. Ferguson. Mrs. Ferguson was the first school secretary at Lakeview Elementary School in Colonial Heights. Following her retirement, she performed mission work in Central and South America and Kosovo, as well as disaster relief work in Florida, Louisiana and New York following 9-11. She was active in her church and the Colonial Heights Women's Club. She was an avid walker and loved the beach. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 20, 2014, at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 3110 Greenwood Avenue, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834 with the Reverend Jerry Parker officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday prior to the service at church. Mrs. Ethel Mae Irving departed her life Sunday, December 14, 2014, at her residence. Preceding Mrs. Irving in death her parents, William Grammer, Sr. and Ethel Corrine Grammer; brothers, William Grammer, Jr. and Richard Grammer; and godson, Joey Taylor. Mrs. Irving was employed as a domestic engineer for Jane Elaides for several years and she was also employed by Prince George County Public Schools as transportation specialist, retiring from Allied Chemical with 26 years of service. She was a baptized at an early age and a faithful member of the Mt. Hope Baptist Church, where she sang with the senior choir. Loving memories will be cherished in the hearts of her daughter, Gail Irving; devoted granddaughter, Shaquila Irving; great-grandchildren, Ladeja Irving and Cornell Irving; adopted grandchild, Trevon Jones; devoted sister, Evelyn Taylor (Joseph); adopted brother, Gilbert Harris; nieces, Tina Banks (David), Carolyn Boggan; Glenda Taylor, Angela and Alana Grammer, and Connie Grammer; nephews, William Grammer, Richard Grammer, Aubrey Taylor (Valerie), Horace Taylor (Regina), Curtis Taylor, Gilbert Taylor (Barbara), Marcus Taylor, Terry Taylor, Floyd Taylor, Antoine Grammer, Ricky Lee Grammer, and Kenny Grammer; very devoted cousins, Marilyn Carroll (Nathaniel), Carrie Crockett, and Barbara Howard; and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends. JEFFERSON, ALICE B.  
Mrs. Alice Bernice Jefferson, 88, of 287 E South Boulevard, Petersburg, VA, was called to be with the Lord on Friday, December 12, 2014. She was born January 17, 1946, to Hester Jones Paige and Alton Paige.She is preceded in death by her brother, Bernard Paige, and four sisters, Annie Branch, Rebecca Fields, Louise Paige and Jean Eva Coleman. She attended Bloomfield and Mount Poole Baptist Churches. She lived in Pool Siding for most of her life where she and her husband, James raised farm animals and had a very large garden. She was very good at canning vegetables and an awesome cook. She worked as a domestic engineer for many years cooking/cleaning and taking care of others. Although she had no children of her own, she always would say that Gloria and Snookie felt like they were hers. After moving from Fredericksburg, she resided with her niece, Cheryl Jarrett. She leaves to cherish her memory nieces, Cheryl Jarrett (Randall) of Prince George, VA, Gloria Bethune and Jean Winfield of Petersburg, Barbara Smith of Chesterfield, and Lillie Lynch of Fredericksburg; a special friend, Raymond Vaughan; and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends. MASON, MARIAN O.M.  
Mrs. Marian Omega Morgan Mason, 66, of 6521 Coleman's Lake Road, Church Road, Virginia, entered into eternal rest peacefully on Monday, December 15, 2014, at her residence. "Omega" was born in Nottoway County, Virginia on September 22, 1948, to the late Junious and Marion Morgan. She spent most of her life in Blackstone, Virginia, where she met and married Willie E. Mason, Sr. and to that union three children were born. Omega confessed to Christ and became a member of Poplar Lawn Baptist Church in Blackstone, Virginia, at an early age. She was still employed at Clay's Assisted Living in Blackstone for thirty plus years. As a member of the Popular Lawn Baptist Church she sang on the choir. She has worked at sexton for over 20 years and was very dedicated to her job. She also enjoyed and was ready to attend any and all programs, Sunday school, bible study and follow whatever pastor we have had and now our present pastor (Jerry Streat). She leaves to cherish memories, a loving and devoted husband, Willie E. Mason of Church Road, Virginia; three children, Saundra Creighton (Larry), Janet Mason of Chester, Va; Willie E. Mason (Nikki) of Church Road, Va. She also leaves to cherish her memories five grandchildren, and one great-grandson; three sisters, Queen Wilson (Thomas), Selma Hayes (Samuel "Junnie") and Mary Hobbs of Blackstone; three brothers, Donald Morgan (Martha) of Amelia, James Morgan, Blackstone, Va., and Ronald Morgan of Richmond Va.; five aunts and four uncles; four sisters-in-laws; and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 21, 2014, at 2 p.m. at the Popular Lawn Baptist Church, Blackstone, Virginia, with the Rev. Jerry Streat officiating.
