ROBERT W. BROWN JR. Mr. Robert William Brown, Jr., known to many as 'Bobby', was born August 4, 1958 in Richmond, VA, to Robert W. Brown, Sr. and Hilda M. F. Brown. He was the father of one son, one daughter, grandfather of one grandson and the second oldest of five children. He graduated from Thomas Dale High School in Chester, Virginia and served in the United States Army. Bobby worked for many local small businesses and other jobs around the county. He served well his local church, Zion Chester A.M.E. Zion, and community through his gift of singing, and if you ask he'd sing for any occasion, weddings, funerals, etc. Bobby was a humble man who did not have or require much, yet he gave all he had. If you met Bobby you met a friend. If you had a need and he could fill it, he did. He was loved by many and known as the most kind, unselfish and giving person they knew. He gave from his heart always, with a smile. He never bragged or boasted about his giving, never announced what he did for others, most things he did we never knew he did unless someone else told us. He worked with his hands and could and would build anything, landscape anything, and could skillfully handle whatever task put before him and many times he never sought nor received payment. More than a skillful worker and singer he loved fishing with his brother and friends, he loved to cook and hear how you enjoyed it, he loved people. Bobby loved his momma, daughter, grandson and all family, he'd see you and say, "Hey or What's-Up 'Sis', 'Cuz', 'Auntie', 'Unc', etc." He was preceded in death by his son, Robert W. Brown,III; his father, Robert W. Brown, Sr.; his grandmothers, Geneva J. Friend and Beatrice Brown; grandfather, Melvin M. Friend; uncles, Lee, Melvin, Jr., and Michael Friend, and an aunt, Loretta Stinnett. He leaves to celebrate his memory his daughter, Shanita M. Brown; grandson, Julian T. Hamilton; mother, Hilda F.
