Another angel called home, Mrs. Agnes Mayfield Parham, of 12301 Lewis Road, Chester, departed this life on April 10, 2013, at her residence.
She was a native of Sussex County and the daughter of Richard and Eliza Mayfield and the widow of Russell Parham. She later moved to Chester until her health declined.
She attended the Sussex County school system. She was a member of Chester A.M.E. Zion Church, Chester. She worked numerous jobs, which included Dunlop Tobacco Company and she retired from Central State Hospital.
She was preceded in death by eight brothers and sister, Maggie Mayfield, Addie Flowers, Annie Fobes, Herbert Mayfield, Carol Thomas Mayfield, Sam Mayfield, Junius Mayfield, and Eliyah Mayfield and one daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Parham.
She is survived by: one son, Ronald L. Parham; one stepson, Russell L. Parham; four stepdaughters, Gloria P. Fisher, Elnora Parham, Zelda Mullen and Martha Branch; four grandchildren, Tameka Leake (Harold Leake Jr.), Natasha Parham (William Barrett), Ronnell Parham (Nakesha Browder), and Latoya Briggs (Leon Beasley); one stepgrandson, Derrick Parham; devoted niece, Eliza Shine, and devoted nephew, Richard Flowers; and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family wants to thanks the nursing staff and very devoted nurse, Mrs. Kelly.
A funeral service for Mrs. Agnes M. Parham will be held 1 p.m., Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at the Chapel of J.M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment Inc., 102 South Ave., Petersburg, the Rev. Nathaniel Draft, eulogist.
