Mrs. Angela Yvette Lawrence Goode entered into eternal rest on Sunday, May 11, 2014. The beloved daughter of Mary Nellie Francis Lawrence-Clayton and the late Morris Andrew Lawrence Jr. was born on Nov. 2, 1958, in Washington, D.C.
Angela's faith and education were formed at Saint Gabriel's Catholic Church in Washington, D.C. She received her secondary education from Theodore Roosevelt High School and graduated from Hampton Institute (University) with a Bachelor of Science in accounting. Before passing, she went onto receive certification in medical billing and coding. Saint Joseph's Catholic Church was the faith home and community she loved. Angela was a member of the Saint Joseph's Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality, Weekly Bible Study, Eucharist Minister, Lector and active in parish activities.
Angela was employed with E.I. DuPont and later Computer Sciences Corporation until her retirement in 2013. After retirement, Angela was fully active in the Strong Women of War (prayer group) and the Sisters on a Mission (African-American Breast Cancer
She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Howard Goode.
Angela is survived by: her husband of 30 years, Randy L. Goode; four children, Travis, Tiara, Ariana and Aaron; she also leaves to cherish three siblings, Kathy T. Jones, (Thomas), Elford Lawrence (Patricia), and Dennis Lawrence (Sherry); mother-in-law, Mary Goode; brothers-in-law, Andre Goode (Ernestine), Guy Goode, and Howard Goode Jr.; sister-in-law, Patrice Johnson (Robert); godson, Armani Mason-Callaway; dear friends, Donna Jeffreys, Valerie Rudolph, and Sandra Tilghman; and a host of aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives; and friends.
Graveside service for Mrs. Angela Goode will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, May 19, 2014, at the Goode Family Cemetery, 19215 Church Road, Petersburg, South Chesterfield.
The family will assemble at 12 p.m. at 20231 Sheffield Place, Ettrick.
