Ms. Anita R. Brown was born to Vernon and Martha Brown on Aug. 26, 1962. She departed this life on Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013, at Bayview-Johns Hopkins Hospital.

She was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System, receiving her G.E.D. from Harbor City Learning Center. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at the United Baptist Church.

Anita, known by most as "Renee," or by some as "Stink," lived life to the fullest and loved to play basketball. She was employed at the Lord Baltimore Laundry for a number of years.

Renee enjoyed caring for her mother, laughing and joking with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Vernon A. Brown, and two sisters, Patricia Ann and Donna Faye Brown.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Martha Brown; one son, Myron Brown; a loving friend, William Curtis; a sister, Joyace Harris (Steward); three brothers, Gary O. Jones, Vernon Brown Jr. (Lisa) and Andre Brown; four devoted nieces, Shena Winstead (Christopher), Shameka Cox (Christopher), Anetrea Harris and Sabrina Harris; five nephews, Vernon Brown III, Gary R. Jones, Dominique Brown, Andre Brown Jr. and Keyatta Washington; four aunts, Rachel, Pearl, Lucille (Clarence) and Naomi; one uncle, Lawrence Brown; and a host of cousins, other relatives and devoted friends.

A graveside service for Ms. Anita R. Brown will be held noon Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013, at the Jones Family Cemetery, South Chesterfield, Va.; the Rev. Marcus N. Leggett, pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church, South Chesterfield, Va., eulogist.
