Anthony Russo, 90, of Petersburg, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, at Hickory Hill Retirement Community, Burkeville. Born in West New York, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Luigi and Luisa Russo. He was preceded in death by brothers, Andrew, Frank and Patrick Russo; and a sister, Rose DiSalvo.

Mr. Russo was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, and a United States Army veteran having served during World War II. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Ruth Davis Russo; daughter, Amy Dirr and husband, William; a granddaughter, Lindsey Dirr; a grandson, Matthew Dirr, all of Chester; numerous nieces and nephews in New Jersey.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 3110 Greenwood Ave., Colonial Heights, Va., with the Rev. Dr. Andrew Brockelman officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday prior to the service at church.
