Art O. Charity

Mr. Art O. Charity also known as "Lando," 45, of 10771 Lawyers Road, Prince George, departed this life suddenly on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013, at Surry Boat Landing, Hog Island Road, in Surry.

He was a native of Spring Grove, and the son of the late John Charity Jr. and Frances Jones Charity. He was a graduate of Hopewell High School, class of 1986. Art served in the United States Navy (USS Kitty Hawk CV63) and a former employee of Richard L. Crowder Construction.

Art received Christ at an early age at Mt. Hope Baptist Church of Prince George, under the pastoralship of the Rev. Dr. Robert A. Johnson.

Surviving are: a loving daughter, Meya A. Charity; devoted stepfather, Calvin James Sr. (Dorothy); devoted sisters, Chiffon R. Charity and Connie James Hollemon (Jason); devoted brothers, Randy A. Charity (Juliett) and Calvin James Jr.; loving nieces and nephews, Develyn, Toccarro, Shae'la, Tanisha; nephews, Da'mon, Rashad, Jajuan, and De'Andre; great-nieces, Da'Nayjah, Madison, and Liyah; great-nephews, Da'mareon, Savion, and Zyon; devoted uncles, Roger Charity and John White Sr. (Josephine); devoted friend, Julian Mahan; two devoted cousins, Herbert "Herb" Allen and Charles Shears;, and a host of aunts; uncles; cousins; and friends.

Services for Mr. Art O. Charity will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, at Morning Star Baptist Church, 19121 Brandon Road, Spring Grove, the Rev. Dr. Robert L. Elliott Jr., Pastor, eulogist. The interment to follow at the church cemetery.
