Mr. Curtis Lee Massenburg departed this life Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at the Golden Living Center, Petersburg, Va.

He was born June 7, 1958, in Dinwiddie County, Va., to the late James Edward Massenburg Sr. and the late Doris Wyche Massenburg. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, James Edward Jr. and Phillip Bruce Massenburg.

He received his education in the Dinwiddie County Public School System and later joined the United States Army to serve his country. He was employed at Seward and Luggage, Virginia Abrasive and Fiorucci Food, which was his place of employment.

He leaves to cherish his memory, a devoted cousin, Brother T. Earl Jackson of Petersburg; uncles, Ezeil Wyche of Jarratt and Clarence Wyche of Emporia; aunts, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at the Petersburg Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home, with Elder Melvin Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at the Fields/Briggs Cemetery.
