Derrick A. Ware

Mr. Derrick Antonio Ware, affectionately known as "Tony" of 2138 Armistead Drive, Petersburg, departed this life on Monday, March 24, 2014. A native of Petersburg, Derrick was born April 13, 1965, in Anniston, Ala., to Elizabeth Ware Lee and Levy Jones III.

Derrick received his education in Petersburg and Frankfurt, Germany. He served in the United States Army where he received an honorable discharge. Derrick obtained his bachelor's degree from Phoenix University.

Derrick leaves to cherish: his wife, Mary "Pam" Ware of Petersburg; mother, Elizabeth Ware and father, Levy Jones, both of Petersburg; six children, Terrica Brown, Wayne Farrington, Shanika Farrington, Latego Brown, Latasha and Mariah Miller; seven grandchildren; six sisters, Tavita Jones, Chantale Carpenter, Latoya Harris, Tracee Garris, Christy Jones, and Jessica Jones; three brothers, Jermelle Carpenter, Levy Jones and Lonzie Jones; grandmother, Augusta Pegram, mother-in-law, Barbara Tucker; father-in-law, Ellis Tucker; and a host of aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives; and friends.

Services for Mr. Derrick A. "Tony" Ware will be held at 12 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2014, at Royal Baptist Church, 316 St. Marks St., Petersburg, the Rev. Dr. Phillip Williams, pastor, eulogist. Interment to follow at Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia.

Honorary and active pallbearers are asked to assemble at 11:30 a.m. at the church.

The family will assemble at 11 a.m. at 2138 Armistead Drive, Petersburg, the day of the service.
