EDWARD PHILLIPS

Mr. Edward Phillips, 59, of 16913 Courthouse Road, Dinwiddie, VA, entered into eternal rest peacefully Monday morning, Sept. 3, 2018, at the Southside Regional Medical Center. He was born in Sussex County and graduated from Dinwiddie High School. At an early age he joined Rocky Mount Baptist Church, McKenney, VA, and later moved his membership to Little Zion Baptist Church, Carson, VA. Edward was predeceased by his wife, Kim Phillips who recently passed away on February 1, 2018. He was a former employee of Amazon Warehouse in North Dinwiddie.

Edward leaves to cherish is memories three children, Jessica and Edward Phillips Jr. of Hopewell and Aljura Green of Purdy, VA; his loving and devoted mother, Rosa Marie Hall of Dinwiddie; two brothers, John Hall (Georgia) of Hopewell, VA, and Alvin Hall of Newport News, VA; three aunts, Mabel Ridley (George) of Carson, Alice Crowder of Stony Creek and Betty Street of Petersburg; three nephews, Brandon, Trevor, and Calvin; and a niece, Kierra. A host of cousins, other relatives and friends, among them a devoted friend, Lee Beasley (Ernestine).

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, September 8th, at the Petersburg Chapel – Joseph M. Johnson & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Alexander Williams, officiating. Burial will be in the Dinwiddie Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends at the residence of his mother, 16913 Courthouse Road, Dinwiddie, VA. Mr. Phillips can be viewed on Friday from 10am to 8pm.
