Mr. Franklin Alonzo Freeman of Henrico Street, Petersburg, Va., entered eternal rest on Nov. 13, 2012, at his residence. Affectionately known as "Lonnie" he loved spending time with family and singing.
He was educated in the Petersburg Public School. He was employed with the City of Petersburg.
Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Freeman and Mary Freeman Glover; stepfather, Latcher Glover; a brother, William A. "Andy" Freeman and sister-in-law, Yolanda Freeman; niece, Erica M. Woodley and nephew, Anthony Freeman.
Lonnie leaves to cherish his memories a daughter, Deanna Williams (Tim) of Hopewell, Va.; three sisters, Brenda Bartley (Joseph), Letitia Tarvor of Petersburg, Va., and Karen Woodley (Ira) of Prince George, Va.; two brothers, Earl Freeman (Gail) of Chesterfield, Va., and Michael Freeman (Cynthia) of Petersburg, Va.; aunts, Martha Dabney (Wayne) of Petersburg, Va., Mary Jones and Annie Mae Bates both of Dinwiddie, Va.; uncles, Jessie Tucker, Moses Tucker (Mary), William Freeman (Alice) and Samuel Tucker (Costella) all of Petersburg, Va., Irvin Tucker (Ann) of Dinwiddie, Va., Joseph Tucker (Linda) of Mountain View, Calif., Elmore Freeman (Irene) of Chesterfield, Va.; nieces, Jwatonda Freeman, Shaunita Freeman, Tierra Woodley, Aria Freeman, Tracie Walker, Josele Bartley, Tymesha Freeman and Michelle Freeman; nephews, Audwin Freeman, Michael Freeman Jr., Mark Freeman, Christopher Freeman, Tony Walker, Tim Walker and Ira Woodley Jr.; devoted friend, Rebekah Bastlight and a host of great-aunts, great-uncles, great-nieces, great-nephew, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment Inc., 102 South Ave., Petersburg, Va., Elder Ricky Tucker, of Higher Way Full Gospel Baptist Church, eulogist. The interment to follow at Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery.
