George E. Bell

Mr. George Elmo Bell, of 1330 Youngs Road, Petersburg, departed this life peacefully at his residence among family and friends on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013, after a period of declining health. He was the last surviving sibling of 11 children born to George Washington and Nannie Johnson Bell on Feb. 3, 1917, in Powhatan.

Funeral services will be at 12 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, at Zion Baptist Church, 225 Byrne St., Petersburg, the Rev. Dr. Andrew J. White, eulogist.

A public viewing will be held, Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Petersburg Chapel of Joseph M. Johnson and Son Funeral Home, 530 S. Sycamore St., Petersburg.

The family will receive friends at the residence and will assemble there at 11 a.m. on the morning of the service for the procession.
