George L. Cole Sr.

Mr. George Lee Cole Sr. "Eddie Coleman", 56, of 3503 Bainbridge Drive, Hopewell, went to be with the angels on the evening of Sunday, March 24, 2013, after a lengthy illness. George was born on July 9, 1956, to the late William and Dorothy Cole. He was baptized at Power Creek Baptist Church. George was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Cole and John Cole; and his grandparents, Jacob and Lizzie Tyler.

George enjoyed baseball and was an avid Blue Sox fan. He was a loving, caring person, wonderful dedicated father and a devoted grandfather. He was a great friend to all that knew him.

He leaves to cherish his memories: four children, two devoted, Janel Cole and George Cole Jr., Dwayne Birchett and Latasha Birchett; mother of his children and devoted friend, Romona Birchett; one devoted brother and sister-in-law, William Cole Jr. (Daisy); eight grandchildren, Aaliyah, Jordan, Justice, K'mya, Samarian, Jacori, Da'Shawn, and Gi'Kiran; two uncles, Jacob Tyler and Sydney Tyler (Lucy); two aunts, Louise Allen and Louise Geter; two sisters-in-law, Christine Jones and Karen Taylor; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He also leaves to cherish his memories a devoted friend, Teresa Lloyd along with her children; a devoted caretaker/friend, Felicia Otey; and a devoted niece, Michelle Stewart.

The family would also like to thank Hospice of VA for all of their support. A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2013, at the Petersburg Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home, with the Rev. A.L. Williams, officiating. Burial will commence at the Mt. Sinai Cemetery, Prince George.
