Mr. Henry L. "Lynn" Hayes, 67, departed this life Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at Southside Regional Medical Center, Petersburg, Va.

He was the son of the late Christopher and Margie Bland Hayes. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Cynthia Hayes and Julia Flowers; one brother, Joe Hayes. He joined Mount Poole Baptist Church at an early age and was educated in the Dinwiddie County School System. Lynn was a retiree of Sam's Club, Colonial Heights, Va.

He leaves to cherish his precious memory his wife, Catherine R. Hayes; two sons, Daryl Richardson and Marc Richardson; one grandson, Tyreion Taylor; six sisters, Catherine Howard (John), Dorothy White (Ervin) of Church Road, Va., Mable Edmonds, Mary Wilkerson (Herbert), Marlene Jackson (Leonard), Barbara Lassiter, all of Petersburg, Va.; two brothers, Raymond Hayes (Shirley) of Ford, Va., and Preston Hayes (Gail) of Ettrick, Va.; one brother-in-law, the Rev. Alfred Flowers, Petersburg, Va.; one sister-in-law, Jacqueline Cooper (Phillip), Lanham, Md.; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, to include one devoted nephew, Louis Howard of Chesterfield, and devoted niece, Jessica Flowers of Petersburg, Va.

A homegoing service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2014, at the Mount Poole Baptist Church, Ford, Va., with the Rev. Stephen W. Pugh, pastor, officiating. Interment to follow in Hayes/Fields Family Cemetery, Dinwiddie, Va. Public viewing will be held from noon to 8 p.m. Friday April 25, 2014, at the Petersburg Chapel.
