JEREMIAH GARNER

Jeremiah "Ducky Butt," "Jr. Buggy" Garner of Midlothian, Va., departed this life suddenly on Wednesday, July 23, 2014.

If you were looking for a strong, firm hand shake; a burley bear hug; or a gentle smile ... you could always count on Jeremiah for all of the above.

Jeremiah was born Nov. 17, 1994, to Jajuana Glenn and Richard Garner. Jeremiah was blessed and baptized as an infant by his maternal grandmother at Varick Chapel AME Zion Church in Kenbridge, Va.

Jeremiah was a 2013 graduate of Clover Hill High School in Midlothian, Va. His love for law enforcement led him to NOVA Community College, where he was pursuing a degree in criminology. Jeremiah was a go-getter and a hard worker. He was employed by Food Lion, which he affectionately called, Food Kitty, while in high school and post-graduation. His greatest adventure was working for Koons Ford as a car salesman, where he proved himself to be a dedicated loyal employee and friend.

All who knew him realized that he had an outgoing and infectious personality. He always had a need for speed: Fast cars, motorcycles and trucks were his friends. Jeremiah was knowledgeable about most vehicles and would talk to you hours on end about them. He was born with a gift to gab and would talk your ear off about any and everything. Jr. Bugg lived life to the fullest, loved everyone much, and laughed out loud for no reason at all. Signing off for the last time F.C.P.D.HANDS UP.

Jeremiah was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Clara Grant: grandfather, Alphonzo Glenn; and grandfather, the Rev. Richard E. Garner Sr.

Jeremiah leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, Jajuana Glenn-Berry (Dwayne) of Midlothian, Va.; caring father, Richard Garner Jr. (Toni) of Northern Virginia; brothers, Nehemiah Wyche of Dinwiddie, Va., Jackson Garner of Northern Virginia, Aaron Berry of Henrico, Va.; sisters, Janice Garner of Northern Virginia and Aaliyah Berry of Henrico, Va.; devoted maternal grandmother, the Rev. Dr. Laura Brown (Robert) of Aurora, Colo.; great-grandmother, Eloise Dye Glenn, and great-grandfather, Robert Glenn, of Tacoma, Wash.; and paternal grandmother, Lydia Garner of Northern Virginia; paternal aunt, Tracey Garner of Northern Virginia; and a host of loving family and friends.

Service for Mr. Jeremiah T. Garner will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014, at Union Branch Baptist Church, 11521 River Road, Chesterfield, Va.; the Rev. Dr. Gregory Howard, eulogist. Interment to follow at Pine Grove Memorial Gardens, 4160 Rixeyville Road, Jeffersonton, Va.

The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
