Mr. John H. Jordan Sr. peacefully entered eternal rest on March 25, 2013, at Chippenham

Hospital, Richmond, Va. John was born Sept. 3, 1935, in Dewitt, Va., to the late Willie Jordan and Mary Jordan Westbrook. He retired from Brenco Inc after 46 years of employment.

He was a faithful member of Eleven Oaks Baptist Church, Dewitt. He enjoyed westerns movies, fishing, raising hogs, and was very passionate about gardening.

John was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters; and three brothers. John will be missed by all who loved him.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted wife, Mary A. Jordan; four sons, John H. Jordan Jr. (Lisa) of Chester, Va., James Jordan (Patricia), Stephen Bolling (Shelia), and Gralan Bolling, all of Dinwiddie, Va.; two daughters, Vonda Howard (Clarence), and Sheilda Stevens, all of Dinwiddie, Va.; 10 grandchildren, Tiara Jordan, Jeremy Jordan, Dominick Jordan, Ronald Jordan, Allwyn Johnson, Justin Jordan, Aniya Jordan, Tosha Stevens, Dr. Erica Carter (Marvin), Shaquita Bolling; five great-grandchildren, Jream Jordan, Ayden Wyatt, Kateri Crenshaw, RayVon Johnson, Jordan Johnson; one brother, Robert Jordan of Richmond, Va.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. John had devoted fishing buddies, Grover Hudson, Roger Noggin, Junie Talley, Avis Wyatt, and Ronnie Reekes.

A home going celebration will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday, March 29, 2013, at the Olive Branch Baptist Church, Dinwiddie, with the pastor, the Rev. Kevin M. Northam, officiating, and the Rev. Barry Brown, eulogizing. Burial will commence at the Dinwiddie Memorial Park. Viewing will be held today at the Petersburg Chapel.
