Mr. Joshua Malcolm Hopkins, also known as "Yoshi," 28, of Chester, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2013, at the Medical College of Virginia, Richmond.
Born in Hopewell, he was the oldest of three children born to Melissa Hopkins. Mr. Hopkins was preceded in death by: his grandfather, Charles Malcolm Hopkins; and an uncle, Kenny Wayne Hopkins Jr.
Left to cherish his memories: his wife, Amanda Lewis Hopkins; and son, Joshua Gary Hopkins, both of Richmond; mother, Melissa Hopkins and stepfather, Timothy Greg Blackwell, both of Prince George; brother and sister-in-law, Adam and Brittney Marine both of Dinwiddie; sister, Amber Marine of Chester; grandparents, Paige and Kenny Hopkins both of Chester; great-grandmother, Connie Hopkins of Chester; aunt and uncle, Karri and Jeff Wade both of Lynchburg; nieces and nephews, Madison Willis, Brayden Marine, and Autumn Mathis; and a host of loving family; and friends.
A funeral service for Mr. Joshua M. Hopkins will be at held 3 p.m., Saturday, June 29, 2013, at the Chapel of J.M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment Inc., 102 South Ave., Petersburg. The interment to follow at Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, June 28, 2013, at the funeral establishment.
