Ms. Kate L. Gilchrist, 80, of Prince George, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013, at Southside Regional Medical Center. Kate was born on Oct. 10, 1932, to the late Willie and Mary Gilchrist of Disputanta.
She was educated in the Prince George Public School System. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Little Mount Baptist Church, Prince George.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased in death by: her son, Willie White Jr.; sister, Dorothy G. Dennis; brother, Herbert L. Gilchrist and nephew, Melvin Gilchrist.
Left to cherish her precious memories are: two brothers, Willie Gilchrist (Alma) and James Gilchrist; host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives; and friends.
Home going service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, at the chapel of William N. Bland & Son Funeral Home, Dr. J. Alfred Reid ,pastor of First Baptist Church, Disputanta, officiating. The interment to be held at First Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family and friends will assemble at 12:30 p.m. on the day of service and the family respectfully request that food be omitted.
