Lovdie Victoria Kreynus, 80, of Hopewell, passed away on Monday, July 1, 2013.

She was the daughter of the late Ben and Ellen Opeum McDonald, and was also preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers. Lovdie married her husband, John, on Aug. 8, 1953. She served with her husband in the Armed Forces Baptist Missions for 40 years and was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Prince George for over 20 years. She loved to write poems and made beautiful quilts, clothes and wedding dresses.

Mrs. Kreynus is survived by her husband, John L. Kreynus; two daughters, Victoria K. Flanary and husband, Mark, Lori K. Dzierzek and husband, Edward; one son, Laurence E. Kreynus; six grandchildren, Nichole, Tiffany, Dustin, Chandler, Maggie and Tess; five great-grandchildren; five sisters, Marjorie Adams, Faye Westfall, Jackie Bentzoni, Betty Jean Vaughan and Allene Harris.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 4, 2013, at Faith Baptist Church, 5501 Middle Road, Prince George, VA 23875. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 5, 2013, also at the church. Interment will follow in Bethlehem Congregational Cemetery in Prince George, Va.
