Margot Herta "Hetty" Quindt Parendo was born on Oct. 1, 1930, in Dessau, Germany. Her parents were Herta Weidemann and Hammond Quindt. She was one of four children. Her brother died in WWII. She also had two sisters, Anneliese (deceased) and Gertrud. She has numerous nieces and nephews in Alabama, New York, South Carolina and Germany. On May 26, 2014, after experiencing a stroke, Hetty joined her beloved Michael. She will be sorely missed by her family and most definitely by the many friends she has made in Petersburg, especially Virginia (Ginny) Bishop, Heather Wells McCay and JoMae Cole. These friends meant the world to her.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2014, at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, May 30, 2014, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park.
