Martha R.K. Barnes

Mrs. Martha Rebecca Kizzie Barnes, slept peacefully away on Monday, March 18, 2013. She was affectionately known as "Becky" andwas born in Mecklenburg County, to the late Rev. Henry and Eleanor Kizzie. She received her education in the Petersburg Public Schools System.

Becky was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Eddie Barnes Jr.; two sisters, Adele Batten and Mary Zelma Hooiser, and one brother, Henry T. Kizzie Jr.

Left to remember her are her sisters, Ann Riggins, Marion Brown, Patricia Ward (James), Audrey Johnson, Jacqueline Roney and LaBarbara Lawrence; one brother, James E. Kizzie; a very loving and devoted sister-in-law, Ferndine Burrows; one brother-in-law, Herman Barnes, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held 2:30 p.m., Saturday, March 23, 2013, at Royal Baptist Church, 316 St. Mark St., Petersburg, the Rev. Dr. Phillip Williams, pastor, eulogist.

The interment to follow at Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, March 22, 2013, at the funeral establishment.
