Ms. Mary Elizabeth Robb, "Bayer," of Stony Creek, Va., departed this life to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, May 11, 2014, at Southside Regional Medical Center, Petersburg, Va.
Mary gave her life to the Lord at any early age. During this time, she became a faithful and committed member to Galilee Baptist Church, Stony Creek, Va., where she served on the hospitality committee and sang in the choir for many years. Mary enjoyed cooking, being with her family, attending church and hanging out with her sisters. Although Mary did not have any biological children, she was a mother to all of her nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Dory and Elizabeth Robb Taylor, and brother, Francis L. Robb.
She is survived by three sisters, Katherine Taylor of Petersburg, Va., Anna Brown (Ronnie) of Carson, Va., and Barbara King (Lloyd) of Dinwiddie, Va.; one brother, Willie Taylor (Emmbria) of Stony Creek, Va.; three aunts, Evangelist Flossie Foster of Jacksonville, Fla., Sarah Atkins (Robert) of Carson, Va., and Corrine Nelson (Julius) of Goosecreek, S.C.; and one uncle, Edgar L. Giles of Long Beach, Calif. Mary also leaves to cherish a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that were very dear to her, among them a devoted friend, Ms. Dora Pegram, and caregiver, Ms. Ethel Key.
A celebration of life for Ms. Robb will be held at noon Friday, May 16, 2014, at the Galilee Baptist Church, Stony Creek, Va., with the pastor, the Rev. Dr. Linwood James, officiating. Burial will follow at the Dinwiddie Memorial Park. The family will assemble at 11 a.m. at the residence of her sister, Katherine Taylor, 2925 Rollingwood Road, Petersburg, Va.
