Morris D. Flowers Jr., 46, of Hopewell, departed this life on Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, at 2502 Berry St., Hopewell.
He was born June 9, 1966, to the late Rose Marie Gray and Morris D. Flowers Sr. He was a graduate of Hopewell High School, and was employed with Lee Hall Apartments and Chevron Gas Station.
Morris was baptized Baptist Temple Church, Petersburg, and was a member of Powell's Creek Baptist. Prince George.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by five aunts.
He was survived by: his longtime companion and mother of his son, Patricia Rhodes; one son, Terrell Demarco Flowers; one stepson, Tequan Rhodes; and stepdaughter, Tenikqua Rhodes; father, Morris D. Flowers Sr.; stepfather, Oscar Lydell Gray, all of Hopewell; two sisters, Dorothy Flowers and Jennifer Allen (Alexander) of Hopewell; one brother, Brandon Harrison of Chester; aunts, Patty Mae Stokes, Florence Boyd, Clarice Morse, Martha Ann Morse, Gracie Pierce, Gloria Thomas, Linda Ghilchrist (Terry) Celestine Thomas (Levy); uncles, William Morse and Thomas Morse, Kenneth Flowers; very devoted sister-in-law, Lori Seegers (Paul) of Hopewell, and sister-in-law, Zylinda; one brother-in-law, Al, of Petersburg; one niece, Tyerianna Allen; and three nephews, Alexander and Requan Allen, and Xavion Jenkins; and a host of other relatives and friends, among them devoted friend, Cliff Harris, and Mrs. Kim at Chevron.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, at the chapel of Turner-Bland Funeral Home, Hopewell. The Rev. Dennis Blanding will officiate. Interment will follow in the Jones Williams Morse Family Cemetery, Prince George. There will be a wake from 6 to 7 Monday evening at the chapel of Turner-Bland Funeral Home, Hopewell. The family is asked to assemble at 1 p.m. at 2502 Berry St., Hopewell, on the day of the service.
