Ms. Octavia F. Peterson, 96, of 3401 Dupuy Road, South Chesterfield, formerly of 505 Mistletoe St., Petersburg, entered into eternal rest and peace Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at Southside Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Peterson was a native of Dinwiddie. She was a member of Mount Olivet Baptist Church after leaving Big Bethel in 1959.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Bettie Fields; her husband, George Peterson; sisters, Ruby Tucker, Gertrude Pegram, Beatrice Dillard, Edna Fields and Birtese Curley; brothers, Commodor, Spergeon and Sterling Fields.

She leaves to cherish her memories: two nephews, Earl Fields (Corrinn) and Francis Curley; one niece, Joan F. Winfield (William); great-nieces and nephews, Everett Bond (Deniece), Kyle Winfield (Kandance), Travis Winfield, Tracey Winfield, Andrey Bracey, Nicole Patrick, Steven Curley and Shelia Carney (Fred); host of other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at Mount Olivet Baptist Church, Petersburg, with pastor, Dr. Wesley K. McLaughlin, officiating. Interment will follow at Dinwiddie Memorial Park Cemetery. Immediate family will assemble one hour prior to service at the residence.
