Peggy Joyce Chudoba, 79, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, following a valiant six-month battle with pancreatic cancer.
She was born in Princeton, W.Va., on July 18, 1933, to the late Robert Howard Daugherty and Mabel Stafford Daugherty Cook. Mrs. Chudoba was preceded in death by her husband, James "Jimmy" Chudoba, and her daughter, Donna Chudoba Pressley. She was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church, and retired from Bank of America, where she worked for over 35 years. After retirement, she worked for Stiletto Entertainment, refitting costumes for the singers and dancers for Holland America Cruise Line, which allowed her to travel the world for the last 10 years.
Mrs. Chudoba is survived by her son J. Bruce Chudoba of Leesburg; her daughters, Stacy L. Chudoba of Los Angeles, and Tracy L. Chudoba-Wood and her husband, Dean, of Ashburn; two grandsons, Brent T. Chudoba and his wife, Brooke, and Jaxon D. Wood; a granddaughter, Tiffany L. Chudoba; three sisters, Betty Kump, Wanda Oliver and Carol Hall; and two brothers, Robert Daugherty and Buddy Cook.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, in Sunset Memorial Par, Chester, with the Rev. Jim Pfost officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
