Mrs. Queen Elizabeth Bolling Lacy, 85, of 18618 Bishop St., Dinwiddie, Va., entered into eternal rest and peace early Sunday morning, Aug. 4, 2013, at the Southside Regional Medical Center.
She was born on June 12, 1928, to the late Granville and Harriet Perkins Bolling. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Alma Lacy; a son, Lee Russell Lacy; three sisters, Geraldine Morgan, Mable Blackwell and Corrine Bolling Filmore; four brothers, Willie Hicks, Samuel Bolling, Royal Bolling and Sherman Bolling.
At an earl age, she confessed Christ and became a member of the Mount Calvary Baptist Church, DeWitt, Va. Elizabeth retired from Central State Hospital with 28 years of service. She was a loving and devoted mother that cherished her family and friends. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her dearly.
She leaves to cherish her wonderful memories, five loving children, Laura L. Jones (Connie) of DeWitt, Carl Gilbert Lacy of Dinwiddie, Otis Gentry Lacy (Estelle) of Richmond, Carolyn L. Winfield (Jessie) of Petersburg and Brenda Mackey of Dinwiddie; one devoted brother, Evan Bolling; and one sister, Ida Lambert (James); 13 grandchildren, Trenton Lee (Natasha), Pamela Johnson (Kenneth), Kenton Winfield (Tiffany), Andrea Winfield, Tiara Mackey, Gwendolyn Lacy, Corey Lacy, the Rev. Carlos Jordan (the Rev. Christal), Jabari Jordan (Stacy), Ryshonda Jodran, Terraz Fitzgerald, Terrell Bradshaw and Melika Smalls (Alvin); 18 great-grandchildren; a devoted friend, Courtney Faulcon; a devoted cousin, Doletha Bonner; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
A homegoing celebration will be held at noon on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013, at the Mount Calvary Baptist Church, DeWitt, with the pastor, the Rev. Gerald Q. Brandon, officiating, and the Rev. Joan B. Freeman eulogizing. Burial will commence at the church cemetery. The family will assemble at the residence at 11 a.m. on the day of the service. Public viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013, at the Petersburg Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home.
