Reaner M. Richardson

On Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, Mrs. Reaner M. Richardson transcended this life for eternal life with Christ.

Mrs. Reaner M. Richardson was born on Nov. 17, 1918, in Sussex County, Va. She was the daughter of the late Willie and Annie Taylor.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sinclair Richardson; a son, Alphonso Richardson; two daughters, Annie M. Richardson and Ruth E. Richardson; a granddaughter, Barbara Richardson and a brother, Richard Taylor.

Reaner attended the Sussex County School in Yale, Va., and retired from Petersburg School Board System with over 20 years of service. She was the mother and a member of Harvest International Full Gospel Baptist Center in Petersburg, Va.

Mother Richardson was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She was compassionate thoughtful, and a caring person. If you knew Mother Richardson you knew she had a sense of humor and a loved to make people laugh. She was devoted to her family and loved her Bishop and church family. She believed in helping those in need. She has had such an impact on so many of our lives. She will always live in our hearts and stay in our thoughts.

Thank you, grandmother for your bravery, your grace, your laughter, your humor, your dignity and for your kind heart. You were truly a warrior, for you were not afraid of this world because you continued to stand strong on your faith, and trust in the Lord.

Mrs. Reaner M. Richardson is survived by two granddaughters, Elder Priscilla Richardson and Danielle Smith both of Petersburg, Va.; six grandsons, Andrew Richardson (Dorothy) and James Richardson (Betty) both of Petersburg, Va., Dureck Richardson (Chenice) and Alphonso Richardson both of Newport Richey, Fla., Louis Richardson (Phyllis) of Odessa, Fla., and Gregory Richardson of Clearwater, Fla.; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The Richardson family would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the nurses and hospital staff at the Kindred Hospital, Bishop Bonner and the Harvest International Center Family for their love, prayers and kindness during this time, and to her caretaker, Sandra Chavis, Annie Mason and Theresa Wyche.

We give special thanks to Mrs. Judy Williams, a friend of the family who so willingly helped providing her professional services.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, at Harvest International Full Gospel Center, 1017 W. Washington St., Petersburg, Va., Bishop Mary P. Bonner, pastor, eulogist. The interment will be held at the Southlawn Memorial Park.
