Deacon Robert Raynor, 95, of 14904 Courthouse Road, Dinwiddie, entered into eternal rest Friday evening, May 10, 2013, at the Southside Regional Medical Center. He was born on March 19, 1918, in Duplin County, N.C.

He was a active member of the Mount Level Baptist Church, Dinwiddie, for many years. He was a supportive part of the Male Chorus and served on the Diaconate Ministry also. He loved his church, singing, fishing, and always stated that he was the "master of digging graves" and he did that for more than 25 years for several local funeral establishments.

He is preceded in death by his brothers, Leroy, Wilbert, David and Julius Raynor. Early in Robert's years, he married Mary Hicks Raynor. In his later years of life, he joined in holy matrimony with Lillie Mae Wyatt Raynor, who is also deceased.

He leaves to cherish his memories, son, Robert Earl Raynor; a grandson, Thomas Earl Raynor; a granddaughter, Shakira Raynor; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four stepchildren, Russlyn Smith (Gerald), Doris Mason, Ricardo (Zoretta) and Kevin (Georgia); six stepgrandchildren; and seven stepgreat-grandchildren; sister-in-Law, Fannie B Graham; brother-in-law, William Warden. He is also survived by a niece, Hilda Canaday, and his oldest nieces, Christine Rodgers and Jean Raynor, and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at noon on Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at the Mount Level Baptist Church, Dinwiddie, with the pastor, the Rev. Bernard Coleman, officiating. Public viewing will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 13, 2013, at the Petersburg Chapel.
