On Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, God called one of his angels, Sharron V. Jones, of 3219 Virginia St., Hopewell, home. She was surrounded by her family and friends at the residence of her sister at 939 W. Wythe St., Petersburg.

She was born to the late Mary and Everette Graves. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Annie Cain; stepmother, Ersue Williams; two sisters, Lemonies "Squeeky" Jones and LaShawne Jones; three brothers-in-law, Aaron P. McMullen Sr., Edward Sedgwick and Emerson Whitaker Jr; one sister-in-law, Margaret Jones; and three uncles, Jessie Cain, Ulysses and David Graves.

Sharron was a 1979 graduate of Petersburg High School. She was a faithful member of Good Shepherd Baptist Church, where she served on the Ladies Usher Board.

Sharron was employed at Southside Regional Medical Center for 34 years.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories, a devoted and caring son, Antonio Ronell Jones "Tony"; two loving grandchildren, Ronell Orlando Brown and TeJuana Nicole Brown; daughter-in-law, Marquel Brown of Petersburg; seven brothers, Willie "W.T." Jones of Newport News, Everard "Boogie" Jones, Palmer Jones, Bobby Artis, Steven Jones (Maria), Ronnie Jones and Ricky Jones, all of Petersburg; seven sisters, Charmaine Sedgwick of Waldorlf, Md., Argie Whitaker (Sam), very devoted sister, Bridget "Cookie" McMullen, Nadine Williams, Pamlin Brown (Joseph), all of Petersburg, Gladys Webb of North Carolina, Connie Hope (Alvin) of Richmond; three aunts, Vashti "Babysis" Richardson of Ettrick, Josephine Graves of Newark, N.J., and Gladys Smith of Shacdy, N.Y.; one uncle, Herbert Graves of Texas; host of nieces, nephews and cousins among them, three devoted nephews, Aaron McMullen Jr. (Tiffany) of Ladysmith, Va., Emerson Whitaker III (Rita) of Winchester, Va., and Dwight Williams (Stephanie)of Dallas; two nieces, Sherrytta Sedgwick of Waldorf, Md., and Crystal Sedgwick of Washington; two devoted cousins, Annie "Laurie" Green of Petersburg, Donnell Parker of Emporia, Va.; other relatives and friends, to include several devoted, Sharon Jackson, DeWayne "Horn" Seward, Jackie Griffin, Evon Green of Atlanta, Brenda Trotter, Janet Seward, Kenny Lambert, Marvette McKensie, the Dominque family of Hampton, the Dabney family of Newport News, Robert Bass of Georgia, Herman of Richmond, Shelia Glover, Winfred Jackson, Larry "Buffalo" Mallory (Sue) of Petersburg and her Southside Regional Medical Center family.

A special thanks to The Virginia Cancer Institute, Dr. Penberthy and staff, Dr. Nalluri and staff, Dr. Michael Cohen, VCU Medical Center of Richmond, and Medi-Home Health and Hospice.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, at Good Shepherd Baptist Church, 2223 S. Crater Road, Petersburg. The Rev. Dr. Jeffrey L. Reaves Sr., pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow at Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery. The wake service will be 7-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, at the chapel of William N. Bland & Son Funeral Home.

Repast to follow at Masonic Temple, Petersburg.

Family and friends will assemble 1 p.m. at 939 W. Wythe St. on the day of service.
