Mr. Spencer Leonard Green, 51, of Prince George County, Va., was called to eternal rest on Friday, Aug. 16, 2013.
He was born March 13, 1962, in Southampton County to Annie Green and Lawrence Faltz. He was a graduate of Prince High School.
He joined the United States Army
in 1994 and was honorably discharged.
During Spencer's lifetime, he was always known for his friendly smile, the love he had for his family and his passion for music. Out of the many thoughts of being in his presence we could say he always had a very kind and easy going spirit about himself. To know "Spinny," as he was called by many, was to know of his love for his grandkids and the Prince George Blue Sox baseball team, where you could always find him performing as the DJ at the home weekend games.
Spencer worked in the construction industry for over 20 years, most recently with Hi-Mark Construction, of Richmond, as a concrete finisher. During his years in his trade he formed many lifelong friendships.
Spencer was preceded in death by his mother, Annie Green-Harris; sibling brothers, Jerome Faltz and Thomas Davis; and father-in-law, James Evans.
He leaves to cherish his memory, a loving and devoted wife of 21 years, Bridget Green; his children, Trevon Green and Nikita Evans; grandchildren Jose' Griffin Jr. and Joslyn Griffin; loving parents, Lawrence Faltz (Katherine); brothers, Darran Faltz and William Green; sisters, Aquanetta Dawson (Ed), Katrina Faltz, Dorethea Artis (William), Lisa Cannon (Willie); aunts, Lavern Stith, Magdeline Stringfield and Florence Boykins; uncles, Roland Green and Alton Faltz; loving mother-in-law, Fannie Robinson; stepgrandmother, Clara Stringfield; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held noon Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Prince George. The Rev. F. Lamont Gooding, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow at church cemetery.
The family will assemble one hour prior to service at 518 Ringneck St., Prince George, Va.
