Timothy Meekins Jr.

Our "Pooh Bear" Timothy Meekins Jr. got his angel wings Friday, July 12, 2013.

Mr. Timothy Meekins Jr. was born on May 7, 1992, to the proud parents of Timothy Meekins Sr. and Carolyn Meekins-Taylor. He was preceded in death by: his maternal great-grandmother, Elsie Adams; and maternal grandmother, Evelyn Adams Sewell.

He was born in Henrico. He attended both the Richmond and Henrico Public School Systems. Subsequently, he attended the Ephesus Junior Academy in Richmond. Timothy received his GED from the Adult Career Development Center in Henrico. He began to further his studies in paralegal at Bryant and Stratton College in Richmond.

At an early age, Timothy accepted Christ and professed his belief in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He participated in many church programs through New Life Outreach International in Richmond, and recently, he began attending New Life Harvest Church in Richmond.

Timothy had many gifts and talents. He was also humorous and had a gift for acting. His love for automobiles was a true splendor to his heart. He was selected as an "extra" in the John Adams movie and played as a ringmaster in a play entitled the "The Circus," at The Neighborhood School of Performing Arts.

He also participated in numerous church plays at Morning Star Baptist Church, Richmond, and was selected by the John Casablanca Modeling and Talent Agency. He always had a star quality that brightened the lives of everyone that knew him.

His hobbies include: auto engineering design, martial arts, soccer, race car driving and skateboarding. Timothy enjoyed making others laugh and potentially became an uprising star at the comedy club in Richmond. We will forever remember his capturing smile, his laughter, and energetic spirit which brightened our hearts and our days. His sunny disposition on life will be missed.

Those left to rejoice in his memory are: his mother, Carolyn Meekins-Taylor (Zellick); father, Timothy Meekins, both of Richmond; devoted maternal grandparents, Wilson and Shirley Adams of Richmond; devoted paternal grandparents, Leroy and Harriet D. Cosby of Richmond; godmother, Alvena Walker; and a host of aunts; uncles; cousins; relatives; and devoted friends, including Lauren, Shaun and Nadine.

A funeral service for Mr. Timothy Meekins Jr. will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 20, 2013, at the Chapel of J.M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment Inc., 102 South Ave., Petersburg. The interment to follow at Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery.
