Toye V. Jackson

Ms. Toye V. Jackson of 4907 Olgers Road, Petersburg, Dinwiddie County, departed this life Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at the Southside Regional Medical Center.

Ms. Toye V. Jackson was born on Sept. 1, 1951, to the late Jake and Marion Platt. She was also predeceased by her brother, Glenn Thompson, and aunt, Olga Thompson, and great-aunt, Clementine Stewart. She joined the Greater Faith AME Zion Church at an early age. She retired from Fort Lee Kenner Army Hospital due to declining health.

Toye leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Cantrece Jackson (Steve), Derek Jackson (Tracey), and Tameka Jackson (Ricky), all of Petersburg, and Diana Johnson of Prince George, Va.; a devoted sister, Karen Miller (Paul) of Petersburg; grandchildren, LaVesta Jackson (Johnny), Tiffany Holmes, LaQuinta Brown, DeQuincy Jackson, DeQuan Jackson, Derek Jackson Jr., Jamil Casselle, Christoria Brown, Marilyn Holmes, Tiara Jones and Christopher Brown Jr.; great-grandchild, Keymeira Harris; an aunt, Mary Peterson "Mae Sue" of Petersburg; devoted niece, Latasha Green; devoted nephew, Jovan Green, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; devoted friends, Vanessa Watts, Dorothy Lewis, both of Petersburg and Beatrice "BB" of Hopewell.

Services of love and remembrance will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2013, at the Greater Faith AME Zion Church, the Dr. Audrey Jones, pastor, the Rev. John Conwell, eulogist.
