WILLIAM A. PRYOR Sr.

On Wednesday, April 2, 2014, surrounded by family members, God in His infinite wisdom called home our husband, father, brother, uncle and friend to many, Bishop William Andrew Pryor Sr.

Bishop Pryor was born May 14, 1958, to the union of Thomas I. Pryor Sr. and Margaret T. Pryor. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Eddie Gonder.

He leaves to cherish precious memories, a loving and devoted wife of 25 years, Clementine Brook-Pryor, affectionately known as "Clem," whom he married on May 14, 1988; four loving and devoted children, William A. Pryor Jr. of Sterling, Va., Brittany D. Anderson, Whitley A. Pryor and Wynette A. Pryor, all of Chesterfield, Va.; one brother, Thomas I. Pryor Jr. (Glorydine) of Petersburg, Va.; mother-in-law, Rosa B. Byrd of Petersburg, Va.; father-in-law, Centry L. McCray of Millersville, Md.; stepfather-in-law, Charlie Byrd (Earlean) of Milwaukee; brothers-in-law, Charles Byrd (Denette) of South Chesterfield, Va., Gary and Orah McCray, both of Millersville, Md.; sisters-in-law, Mae Frances Wilder of Pinewood, S.C., and Brigette Robinson (Butch) of South Orange, N.J.; special devoted friends, Apostle James Silver (Vera) of Washington, D.C., Elder Earl Tucker (Darlene) of Petersburg, Va., Elder Joe Jones (Tomia) of Richmond, Va., Brother Blair Funk (Vicki) of Ashland, Va., Elder Uron Brown of Washington, D.C., the Rev. Stafford Swilley Sr. of Chesterfield, Va., District Elder Frank Reeves (Marian) of Goochland, Va., Bishop Dur'Shay Foster (Vanessa) of Hopewell, Va., Dr. Joyce Chambliss of Chesterfield, Va., Sister Donna Battle of Prince George, Va., and Brother Mark Creason (Amy) of Henrico, Va.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Services for Bishop William A. Pryor will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, April 10, 2014, at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, 800 Augusta Ave., Petersburg, Va.; the Rev. Dr. Wesley K. McLaughlin, pastor, and Elder Ronald Demery Jr., pastor of Bibleway Church, Washington, D.C., eulogist. Interment to follow at Dinwiddie Memorial Park.
