The Lord in his infinite wisdom summoned home our beloved, Mr. Willie E. Rose Sr., of 20082 Pine Tree Road, Yale, Va., on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013.

He is the son of the late Johnnie and Elnora Rose. He was born Nov. 20, 1921. He served in the Army for his country from 1942 until 1946. He fought in the battle of Iwo Jima in the South Pacific.

He was married to the late Lucille Rose.

He leaves to treasure his memory two sons, Robert Rose (Ann) and Willie Rose Jr. (Menbera); five daughters, Lorine Taylor, Beaulah Johnson (Hunter), Florinda Rose, Pamela Castelle (Michael Sr.) and Judy Lewis (Larry); one brother, Eugene Rose (Josephine); three sisters, Annie Cary (Matthew), Catherine Jones (Robert) and June Belle; a sister-in-law, Cassie Powell; a brother-in-law, John Taylor; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

A funeral service for Mr. Willie E. Rose will be held 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at Calvary Baptist Church, 20248 Courthouse Road, Yale, Va.; the Rev. Dr. Willie Derr Sr., pastor, eulogist. The interment will to follow at the Rose Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at funeral establishment.

The family will assemble 2:30 p.m. at the church the day of the service.
