Herman Casey Obituary

Mr. Herman Casey Jr. of 520 Pegram Street, Petersburg, Va., came to the end of his battle of long declining health on Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2010 at his residence.

He was a quiet man but enjoyed people and traveling, and his family. He also enjoyed taking long walks every day. He was born on April 26, 1948, in Nottoway County, Va. Herman was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Jackson Casey; parents, Mr. Herman Casey Sr. and Mrs. Mary Green Casey; grandparents, Charlie and Virgie Green and Bill and Lucy Casey; sister, Gloria J. Casey; uncles, Moses S. Green, Charlie Casey, Edward Green and five other uncles; two aunts; ex-wife, Mercedes Venable Casey; brother-in-law, Daniel Lee Reaves Jackson (who passed on Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2010) and in-laws, James and Rosina Jackson.

He is survived by three daughters, Denise Smith of Baltimore, Md., Lisa and Tina Casey both of Petersburg, Va.; one son, Keith Casey of Petersburg, Va.; three sisters, Mary Casey Jackson of Petersburg, Queen Crews of Hopewell, VA and Ruth Casey Epps (Mack) of Petersburg, VA; a brother who help with Herman care when he could not help himself, James Casey (Debra) of Petersburg, VA; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends too numerous to name.

The family like to thank the following who contributed to Herman's care: Southside Regional Medical Center Staff, two adult homes in Petersburg, VA, Herman and Debra, nieces, Tyra Casey and Winfred Jackson, sister, Queen Crews and all others that helped in any way, and Pastor George Howard and Shiloh Seventh Day Adventist Church Family.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 P.M., Monday, November 1, 2010 at Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery, Rev. George Howard, Pastor of Shiloh Seventh Day Adventist Church Eulogist.
