Latasha Smith Obituary

Miss Latasha M. Smith, 36, of 1811 Ferndale Ave., Petersburg, Va., departed this life on Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010, at Southside Regional Medical Center.

She was born on July 16, 1974, and devoted her life to Christ. LaTasha attended Petersburg Public Schools but graduated from Goldsboro High School, Goldsboro, N.C., in 1992. She also attended John Tyler Community College, Virginia State University and recently Strayer University.

LaTasha believed in being informed and informing others of the political issues of the Democratic Party and the social issues concerning sickle cell anemia.

LaTasha was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Charles and Bertha Smith; sister, LeShaunda Beasley; one uncle, Wayne Smith; one aunt, Lori Smith; and one cousin, Jeremy A. Uzzle.

She leaves to cherish her memory, maternal grandparents, Joe and Lucille Beasley of Petersburg, Va.; her mother, Loretta Lucas (James); father, Sherman L. Smith; two devoted and loving sisters, LaTricia M. Smith of Henrico, Va., and Tileana Revish; three brothers, Dontay Revish, Merton Revish and Burton Revish, all of Petersburg, Va.; and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

The funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010, at Olive Branch Baptist Church, 11119 Boydton Plank Road, Dinwiddie, Va.; the Rev. Kevin Northam, pastor, eulogist. The interment to follow in Dinwiddie Memorial Park.

Honorary and active pallbearers are asked to assemble 2:30 p.m. at the church.

The family will assemble 2 p.m. the day of the services and receive friends at 1841 Randolph Ave., Petersburg, Va., and may be contacted by calling 804-862-3910.
